ANA Rolls Out New Sake Selection At Lounges and In Flight

The carrier will roll out the new selections at their lounges and aboard flights starting March 1, 2024.

Brands Selected by Sake Advisor from Conrad Tokyo

The airline says each of the 62 brands were selected by Yasuyuki Kitahara, a member of the airline’s Connoisseurs and the assistant food and beverage manager at the Tokyo Conrad. The new selection will be available to flyers in first and business class on international flights, premium cabin flyers on domestic flights, and visitors to both the ANA Suite Lounge and the ANA Lounge.

“Delivering on our commitment to continuously elevate the ANA experience, we’re thrilled to introduce our newest lineup of Japanese sake and shochu,” Tomoji Ishii, executive vice president of customer experience management and planning at ANA, said in a press release. “With each sip, passengers will embark on a flavorful journey through Japan’s rich culinary tapestry, ensuring an unforgettable inflight experience.”

Flyers traveling aboard the Japanese carrier in February will also get a preview of the flavors when they visit the lounge. Through February 29, 2024, visitors to either of the ANA lounges at Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) and Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) will be able to sample some of the shochu offerings before they are launched across the network.

Looking ahead, those flying in August 2024 will be able to get a sample of a sake brand created by a former chief brewer of Dom Pérignon. During the limited window, the airline will offer samples of IWA 5 Assemblage5, described as a sake formed with an “innovative blending technique.” Flyers will have the first tastings of the release before it goes out to the public in September 2024.
