Alaska Adds West Coast Flavors In Time for Holiday Travel

The airline announced a new set of amenities set to improve the passenger experience, including two new drink selections and comfort items rolling out at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.

Espresso Martini, Higher Quality Blankets Coming Soon to Flights

For flyers seeking the ultimate refreshment options, Alaska is offering two new beverages that showcase the flavors of the West Coast. Travelers will be able to indulge with a Straightaway Nitro Espresso Martini, a ready-to-drink cocktail made with Portland’s Stumptown Coffee Roasters coffee. Those who are looking for a non-alcoholic option can enjoy a Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher: A zero alcohol, zero calorie sparkling water from the Petaluma, Calif. based brewery. The beverages will be complimentary in first class and premium class, and available for purchase in the main cabin starting on November 20, 2024.

For those flying in the forward cabin, a new class of blankets are coming to ensure your comfort. Alaska is partnering with northwest outfitter Filson to provide better comfort items for those traveling on select long-haul and cross-country flights. The new blankets will begin appearing on flights starting in early December 2024.

Finally, the airline is making self-care a little easier on the ground and in the air. Starting in early 2025, Alaska Lounges and aircraft will be outfitted with Salt & Stone soap and lotions in the lavatories. The airline describes the new fragrances with “The bright citrus notes of Italian Bergamot, grapefruit and orange blossom…while the earthy warmth of vetiver, hinoki and amber grounds and soothes.”

Alaska’s newest amenities come at a time of growth and expansion for the airline. In addition to reinforcing their West Coast roots with new routes, the carrier added new benefits for the Mileage Plan loyalty program starting in 2025.
