Brussels Airlines, Qatar Airways, and United Score High Marks in AirHelp Survey

 

AirHelp says the two were only separated by only .01 points in their World’s Best Airlines study.

 

Airlines Ranked on On-Time Performance, Customer Opinion, and Claim Processing

The air passenger regulation company, which seeks to help flyers get compensation for qualified flight disruptions, ranked carriers among three categories. The carriers were judged on their on-time performance, customer opinion, and claim processing performance.

 

Brussels Airlines outscored Qatar Airways by the thinnest of margins, besting the “Middle East Three” carrier in claim processing only. United Airlines scored third globally, with similar scores in all three categories to Brussels.

 

Oman Air and Play had the best in on-time performance, while Emirates, Garuda Indonesia, and Qatar Airways were held in the highest esteem by customers. Air Serbia, Air Arabia, and Brussels Airways had the best claim processing performance.

 

In the United States, United Airlines and American Airlines tied for the top honors. American outscored United in the customer opinion, tied in claim processing, but fell behind in on-time performance. Delta Air Lines finished third with high on-time performance and customer opinion, but a dismal claim processing score. JetBlue scored 90th globally, with high on-time performance and customer opinion but a “0” in claims processing. Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines were not ranked by AirHelp.

 

When it comes to airports, Doha Hamad Airport (DOH) in Qatar was rated the best airport in the world, ranking highest in both customer opinion and food and shops. For the United States, Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) was ranked the top of the country, followed by Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).
