Number of Hotels and Sign-Up Bonus Credited for Top Spots

In announcing the latest edition of the ratings, USA Today credited Wyndham Rewards for having one of the largest hotel loyalty programs. The researchers pointed out that guests can spend their points at over 50,000 participating hotels, vacation clubs, and resorts worldwide across several brands. Wyndham’s portfolio spans from budget brands Howard Johnson and Super 8 to luxury bands Wyndham Grand and Registry Collection Hotels.

On the credit card side, Wyndham Rewards Earner Card earned the top spot for the points earnings and the perks that come with the card. Travelers can earn five points per $1 spent at Hotels by Wyndham and qualifying gas purchases, two points per $1 on eligible dining and grocery store purchases, and one point per dollar everywhere else.  Cardholders also automatically get Wyndham Rewards Gold status, a 10% discount off the points price on Go Free award nights, and a bonus for meeting and annual spending threshold.

Among other hotels, Omni Select Guest came in second place for their attention to detail, including a free welcome drink for guests, free wi-fi, and elevated benefits based on their loyalty status. Best Western Rewards came in third for their flexible points programs targeted at budget-minded business and leisure travelers.

Other credit cards earning top honors in the USA Today 10Best rankings include the Chase IHG One Rewards Premier card in second, and the Choice Privileges Mastercard in third.
