Lufthansa Launches Allegris First Class November 9

The airline announced their newest first class cabin, Lufthansa Allegris, will launch starting on November 9, 2024.

New First Class Features Heated and Cooled Seats, Personal Wardrobe, and Locking Door

Flyers heading to Bangalore will be the first to experience the first class cabin when it becomes available on November 9. Six days later, the cabin will be available on flights to Mumbai aboard the airline’s Airbus A350-900. After the initial flights and as more aircraft are fitted with the new cabin, the carrier says they will begin inviting their most loyal flyers to experience Allegris, followed by “targeted upgrades by passengers and later targeted bookings.”

The new cabin features a nearly three-foot wide seat which can convert to a bed. Each separate suite features ceiling-high walls and lockable doors for complete privacy.

Inside the suite, flyers will find a large table for dining and other activities, along with a “huge screen” with wireless headphones. The seat can be heated or cooled, based on the flyer’s comfort preferences.

Each suite also features a personal wardrobe so they can change at any time to more comfortable clothing for eating, sleeping, and arrival. When traveling with a companion, the Suite Plus can be combined to accommodate both partners.

For the initial flights, each aircraft will feature two regular suites and one Suite Plus, for a total of four individual suites, or two individual suites and one combined Suite Plus.

First class flyers will not be the only ones treated to new technology when they fly with the German flag carrier. In business class, the airline will be partnering with Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta and MSM.Digital to offer mixed reality technology on flights. On aircraft with the Allegris cabin, those in business class will be able to test a mixed-reality headset as part of their in-flight entertainment and give feedback as to their experience. Entertainment offerings will include “captivating cinema-style movies, engaging VR 360-degree travel podcasts, interactive games and soothing relaxation exercises.”
