British Airways Drops Dallas, Miami Routes

Media reports found on the FlyerTalk forums say routes by the British carrier to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Miami International Airport (MIA) will be halted in 2025.

All Fights Between London and DFW Cut in 2025, Miami Flight Suspended

In North Texas, Dallas Business Journal reports British Airways will stop flying between London Heathrow Airport (LHR) and Dallas-Fort Worth. The cuts will begin in March 2025, lasting until at least October of next year.

Currently, American Airlines currently operates four daily flights between their headquarters airport and London Heathrow. With British Airways cutting their only daily operation next March, American is expected to take up the missing flight under the joint venture between the two carriers.

Dallas isn’t the only city that is expecting the loss of a flight in the next year. Britain’s i News reports British Airways will also suspend a second daily flight between Heathrow and Miami International Airport. Despite being one of their most popular routes, the airline says they are making cuts due to supply chain problems with Rolls-Royce aviation engines.

“We’re disappointed that we’ve had to make further changes to our schedule as we continue to experience delays to the delivery of engines and parts from Rolls-Royce,” a British Airways spokesperson told i News. “Particularly in relation to the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines fitted to our 787 aircraft.”

Flights to the United States aren’t the only ones affected by British Airways’ engine problems. The carrier has also delayed plans to offer flights between the United Kingdom and Kuala Lumpur, while the airline is limiting their flights between Heathrow and Doha, Qatar to once per day.

It is unclear if American Airlines will also replace the daily service between London Heathrow and Miami.
