The airline announced the upgrades coming to their aircraft and loyalty elite member tiers on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
New Benefits Include Upgrades, Companion Travel, and Miles for Baggage and Seat Bundles
The biggest change for the Denver-based airline is the addition of “First Class” seating to their aircraft. Envisioned as larger seats in a 2-by-2 configuration, the “luxurious and spacious seats” will be introduced in late 2025, taking up the first two rows of the aircraft.
As the seats are installed across all aircraft, the airline will begin to offer Frontier Miles elites the opportunity to upgrade their seats, subject to availability. Elites at Gold Status and above will get offered the opportunity to move up to UpFront Plus seating with an empty middle seat, or to the First Class seats.
Upgrades aren’t the only new benefit coming for elites. Starting in mid-2025, Platinum and Diamond Frontier Miles members will get unlimited “free” companion travel with every booking on every flight. To qualify for the free travel, the companion must also have a Frontier Miles account, and it must be added at the time of booking the ticket. Each companion fare is subject to government-imposed taxes and fees.
Finally, Frontier Miles members will have new ways to use their points on future flights. The airline will also introduce the option to redeem miles for bundled fare options starting in the middle of 2025, including additional baggage, seat selection, and other add-ons. Each set will offer transparent pricing and in four different bundle options: Basic, Economy, Premium, and Business.
To celebrate the news, Frontier is offering a limited time promotion with their Frontier Airlines World Mastercard. Flyers can earn Platinum Status by accumulating 20,000 Elite Status Points through flying with Frontier, or spending with their Frontier Airlines World Mastercard. To begin the challenge, members must claim the offer on the Frontier website.
