Denver NBC affiliate KUSA reports 27-year-old Brendan Langley was arrested by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police on accusations of fighting with a United Ground Express worker at the ticketing desk.

Video Depicts Words Exchanged, Before Fists Fly Injuring Employee

In the one-minute viral video shared on Twitter over the weekend of May 20, 2022, a man is seen arguing with a uniformed United employee. After some words were exchanged, the presumed flyer starts swinging fists, ultimately landing blows and knocking down the United worker.  A woman in the background can be heard screaming at the men to stop fighting.

According to KUSA, Langley was later identified as the person in the video and arrested by police for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He currently plays in the Canadian Football League, after spending two seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos. Langley was later released, and it is unclear if a court date was set to answer for the allegations.

On Twitter, Langley identified himself as the individual involved in the fight after re-tweeting a link to a TMZ story, but claimed he was the wronged party. In his own defense, the football wide receiver said: “every angle shows me walking away,” accusing the employee of following him across the ticketing level “just to cause me bodily harm.”

In a statement to FlyerTalk, United confirmed that the uniformed individual worked for United Ground Express but was fired after the video went viral.

“United Airlines does not tolerate violence of any kind at our airports or on board our planes and we are working with local authorities in their investigation of this matter,” a spokesperson for United told FlyerTalk. “United Ground Express informed us that the employee has been terminated.”

Fight Latest Trending Video Showing Airport Violence

The video is the latest depiction of fights at the airport, following a spike in violence over the past year. In August 2021, a flyer caught two passengers brawling during deplaning after an argument turned violent on the aircraft. In April 2021, a group of flyers launched an assault on American Airlines workers when there were not enough standby seats to accommodate all of them on a flight.
