On Wednesday May, 3, 2023, Air Canada and Bell announced a partnership that will bring a host of benefits to passengers both in the air and on the tarmac.
Exclusive Connectivity for Aeroplan Members
Starting on May 15, 2023, Air Canada Aeroplan members can take advantage of complimentary messaging services on-board all Wi-Fi equipped craft, courtesy of Air Canada and Bell. This offer is valid on all Air Canada services – including on its Rouge and Express flights – and means that Aeroplan members can send and receive messages via a wide range of apps, from WhatsApp and Messenger, to Viber and iMessage.
As an added bonus, Air Canada has confirmed that it will be extending this connectivity to those passengers who belong to the loyalty programs of any of its strategic partners. This includes those customers belonging to United MileagePlus, Lufthansa Group Miles & More and Emirates Skywards programs, who can take advantage of this partnership between Bell and Air Canada by ensuring that their account numbers are linked to their Air Canada booking.
Thanks to this collaborative effort, passengers flying inbound to Canada will also be provided with complimentary mobile SIM cards, thus offering them immediate connectivity upon arrival. Additionally, Air Canada and Bell will be working together to develop further promotional awards and to expand the airline’s in-flight entertainment offering.
A Multifaceted Partner for An Enhanced Customer Experience
Commenting on the collaboration in a statement, Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Digital, and President of Aeroplan at Air Canada, said, “Canadians are at the center of this exciting new partnership. We’re so proud to join with an iconic brand to deliver real value to customers across the country, and, importantly, to those new to our country. This multifaceted partnership with Bell will allow Air Canada customers to keep in touch with friends, family, or colleagues wherever they travel. What’s more, we’re elated that Bell will be joining as the latest Aeroplan partner, creating another way for members to travel more, and travel better.”
Claire Gillies, Executive Vice President, Marketing and President Consumer at Bell, added, “We’re excited to partner with Air Canada, and innovate on delivering enhanced experiences for our customers. For those new to Canada or visiting, we recognize how important it is to stay connected with family and friends, and the new opportunities being connected can bring. Many are already familiar with Bell and know we offer the best network, and we’re thrilled to be making it even easier for them to connect when they arrive in Canada.”
