NBC Philadelphia reports the incident is under investigation by homicide detectives due to the “suspicious” nature of how she was found.
Flight Attendant Found in Room Monday Night with No Signs of Forced Entry
According to the NBC affiliate, the flight attendant was found in her room “unresponsive with a cloth in her mouth.” She was discovered at around 10:40 on Monday night, but it is unclear who discovered her. Five minutes later, she was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say homicide detectives are investigating the incident, despite the fact that there were no signs of forced entry, and the flight attendant was on “several medications.” Because of the circumstances, police believe the aviation employee experienced a “sudden death.” No weapon was recovered in the hotel room, and no arrests have been made in the case.
In a statement to NBC News, American said they were “devastated” by the news and would “ensure all affected have the support they need during this difficult time.” Both American and the Marriott location said they would continue to cooperate with law enforcement as they complete their investigation.
Anyone with any information about the incident can submit a tip to the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-8477.
