As shared on the FlyerTalk forums, the latest additions to British Airways’ in-flight experience includes new food, drinks, and entertainment options across cabins.
Front-of-Cabin Guests Get New Single Malts, While Short Haul Gets New Cabin
The biggest product boost comes to those flying international premium cabins, including First, Club World, and Club Europe. International First Class flyers will be able to sample Johnnie Walker’s Blue Label Elusive Umami Scotch Whiskey throughout the entire month.
The whiskey is described by the distiller as a balance of sweet and savory flavors, “with notes of blood oranges and red berries, with sweet wood spice, a touch of smoked meat, a hint of salt and pepper with a long, sweet, fruit finish.” The spirit was created as a collaboration between Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi and Johnnie Walker master distiller Emma Walker.
For those traveling in Club World, flyers will get to sample new single malt whiskeys in-flight. Dalwhinnie 15-year-old Single Malt and Talisker 10-year-old Single Malt will both be available in the international business class. Club World flyers and Club Europe flyers will also get a taste of Fever-Tree Elderflower tonic to pair with spirits like gin or vodka.
A new experience is also awaiting travelers on short-haul flights. With the introduction of British Airways’ latest Airbus A321neo airframe, the new interior will feature mood lighting, leather-padded bridge tables, and larger overhead bins. The new cabin is part of a $8.8 billion in investments earmarked for to improve the British flag carrier’s customer experience.
